Viśvarūpa

On the field of Kurukshetra, Krishna drops the charioteer's guise and shows Arjuna the whole universe in one body.

Arjuna asked to see it. Krishna gave him divine eyes, because human eyes could not hold it. What he saw had no beginning, no middle and no end: faces in every direction, the avatars rising one behind the other, armies pouring into blazing mouths, time itself turning.

दिवि सूर्यसहस्रस्य भवेद्युगपदुत्थिता ।
यदि भाः सदृशी सा स्याद्भासस्तस्य महात्मनः ॥
If the light of a thousand suns rose at once in the sky, it might resemble the splendour of that Great Being. — Gītā 11.12

Three views of one moment. In each, the tiny figure at the foot of the frame is the point. Arjuna stands where every one of us stands: small, afraid, and given one glimpse of the whole.
